Individuals who are unemployed or need new skills should contact Goodwill to schedule pre-screening for the agency’s free classes. Pre-screening will be held in Peoria on Friday, April 10 with Brenda Wilder. Wilder is the Program Developer for Goodwill and will lead the pre-screening session at 10:00 a.m. Individuals should call 682-1113 to schedule. Screening will take place at Goodwill 2319 E. War Memorial Drive, near the Journal Star. New types of classes are being offered and will begin soon.
Money Smart, a computer-based course that covers real life economic issues such as credit, banking, consumer rights and more, will be held April 13 through 17 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Computer Basics is a one-week course that will run from April 27 through May 1 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both of these new courses will be held in the computer lab at Workforce Network, 211 Fulton Street in Peoria.
