Goodwill Receives Grant from Community Foundation of Central Illinois
Goodwill of Central Illinois has received a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois via their Community Impact Fund.
The funds will be used to provide client-specific assistance to unemployed, under employed and dislocated workers. Specifically, these funds pay for things like, gas cards, bus passes, interview clothing, work clothing, uniforms, tools and much more.
“Having these funds available means we can offer even more to those looking for work,” said Goodwill President and CEO, Don Johnson. “Mark Roberts and everyone at CFCI offer support to the community with grants like this. It’s about working together, and we value all of our partnerships.”
Goodwill’s free programs are possible through the sale of your donated items. Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois serves 24 counties within Central Illinois. Goodwill offers employment services, veterans’ support services, a youth mentoring program and operates a 15-room veterans’ home. Goodwill employs more than 300 people.
