We also often carry a sizable selection of household appliances, literature, multimedia, and recreational items! Plus, when you make a purchase at one of our thrift stores, you are helping to fund programs that support your community!
- Veterans’ Services – Goodwill helps provide living and medical assistance, job training, and a reliable support network to veterans in Central Illinois, so they can successfully reintegrate into society. Information on the General Wayne A. Downing Home for Veterans, as well as our Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program and Goodwill Veterans Employment Program can be found on our website.
- Job Skills Training – In our eClasses and Employment Services Centers, people can learn how to properly write a resume, prepare for interviews, fill out applications, and even receive hands-on forklift training! Goodwill also accepts applications for our own stores. Goodwill even offers classes to help people in their life outside of the workplace, in such subjects as time management and conflict resolution.
- Youth Services – One of the most important parts of community outreach is helping local youths. Goodwill’s youth services include the “GoodGuides” youth mentoring program, career seminars and workshops to give teens hands-on work experience, and classroom career training!
